It is ecologically safe, natural, biological pharmaceutical based on Metarhizium anisopliae fungus. It is an effective remedy against young larvae, orthopterous insects (Orthoptera) and hard-wing pests (Coleoptera): may-beetle (Melolontha vulgaris), cabbage white (Pieris brassicae), Colorado potato beetle, potato stalk borer (Trichobaris), elaterid beetle (Agriotes), wireworm (Elateridae) or elaterid larva. It is applied by means of introducing into soil before plowing, cleaving, cultivating, gardening/planting, loosening of row spacing of agricultural crops.
How it works
Most larvae of insect pests stay in the soil or on its surface in plant remnants until the onset of spring. Here they are most susceptible to Metarhizium anisopliae fungus, which causes mycosis, weakening and death of pest larvae.
How to apply
The rate of application depends on the number of pests and is from 10 to 25 liters of drug per hectare, diluted in at least 300 liters of water. It is 500-1000 ml per 10 liters of water for 200 sq.m. on the farmland plots. The drug is most effective against young larvae of pests and if soil is sufficiently moistured. The drug application and soil cultivation should be carried out after 6 pm, before the attack or at the beginning of the revival of pests. Metarizin has an extended in-force period. To make the biological drug work effectively, one shall carry out two treatments during the vegetation period in spring and autumn.
Before planting potatoes, seedlings planting one shall do the planting material processing, immersion of the root system into the drug solution.
