How to securely get rid of myomorphic rodents?

Finally, a difficult harvest campaign was over and the harvest of 2017 was replaced from the field to storage facilities and elevators. The extraordinary heat of this summer made its presence felt, so losing at least a handful of grain more of what was so hardly conquered from the nature, would be a great disgrace, both from the moral and the material point of view. Agronomic farmers face a new problem that they are trying to solve year after year. We are talking about the huge damage that agrarians suffer because of myomorphic (mouse-like) rodents.

Winter crops and perennial plants suffer the greatest losses: in autumn and winter, pests eat stems and green leaves, as well as roots of winter crops and perennials; in summer, they gnaw at the base of stems of winter wheat or barley and feed on grain. Without a preventive measure to protect your crop, losses may reach 50%!

Mass reproduction of myomorphic rodents falls on spring and autumn. In addition, migration of rodents into finished products storages takes place in the autumn. Agrarians, in their own experience, know that such a ‘march of invasion’ is a real catastrophe. It is no use hoping that the wheat on a neighboring elevator or in the next repository will prove more attractive for pests, as there are so many myomorphic rodents in nature that they, unfortunately, are enough for all. Therefore, an urgent need is there to take appropriate measures to combat them.

However, such problems do not only affect the agriculture. Food and vegetable bases, as well as trade enterprises, no less suffer from myomorphic rodents. At industrial enterprises, these pests can disable the technical equipment and machine tools. Rodents penetrate air and water vessels, cars, and wagons and they spoil property, seat covers and other parts of machines.

Rodents are sources of infectious and highly dangerous diseases that promote the spread of infection, among them: tularemia, cholera, pseudotuberculosis, plague and the like. Factors for transmitting pseudotuberculosis are vegetables and dishes contaminated by rodents, and less often these factors are dairy products.

As a rule, independent attempts to get rid of parasites are useless, because the above-mentioned pests both easily adapt to new conditions, and reproduce very quickly. In this case, populations in myomorphic rodents are quite large, which is up to 20 newly-born in one female for the progeny. Moreover, folk methods of fighting rodents, which are often used in country-specific areas, will be ineffective.

A significant number of entrepreneurs continue to use zinc phosphide, although it is a highly toxic drug that requires particular caution and has long been banned in many countries around the world. In addition, it can be used only on a dry basis and taking into account climatic conditions. Rain and moist soil contribute to complete or partial neutralization of zinc phosphide.

Today, the most effective and environmentally safe method of protection against myomorphic rodents is to apply our biological preparation “Rodenta-Bio”.

This biological pharmaceutical is based on Isachenko bacteria and has a strict selective pathogenicity, that is, it destroys only mouse-like (myomorphic) rodents. It is ecologically safe for people, animals and the environment.

The drug can be used at any time of the year, even in winter at -25 ºС. Optimally, the most effective terms are the autumn-winter and early spring periods, when the air temperature ranges from +10 ºС to -10 ºС. The biological effectiveness of this pharmaceutical is no less than 90%.

The action of the drug begins 20-35 minutes after getting into myomorphic rodents’ stomach, causing pathogenesis of abdominal typhus. It continues its protective action when re-settling the pest, and as a result of re-infection from the dead animals, up to 40% of new myomorphic rodents are destroyed without additional drug introduction.

Rodenta-Bio is registered at the state level to protect against myomorphic rodents in organic production according to the European Union standards.

The drug can be purchased and ordered from the central office and our district representatives.
